Message it seems that you're just about there. If I were in your shoes I would have Greg finish the items you listed as needing to complete and then park the car. Take a break from the Z, but take the break with the final items tightened up and a clear conscience.

You'll come back to the car at a later date with a renewed interest. The fact that you've got a Salvage title on the car only means that it's worth now what it'll be worth whenever you decide to get rid of it in the future.

It seems your wife is pretty understanding of your enthusiasm for cars and maybe she would be more appreciative if you just agreed to keep it but put it on the backburner for a while.

We just had a baby girl 5 weeks ago and I haven't driven my Z for 6 weeks. It needs a new front tire, alignment, and the pulley installed for my upgraded alt. The car is in the garage with the cover on it and the pulley's sitting on the hood. After 6 weeks I just pulled the cover on it yesterday and cranked it up for 5 minutes to make sure the battery was still charged. I walked in the house and said to my wife, "man, I miss driving the Z".

She understands because she knows how much time and effort I've put into it, and that I'm a car guy, always have been. I've been driving her Hyundai since a week before the the baby was born. We decided she shouldn't be driving so close to the due date.

When the baby arrives you'll be busy with helping her care for it. Sleep will be the most valuable thing you own, and miss. Your immediate priorities will change until the baby starts sleeping through the night. You and your wife will be a little edgy from nights of interrupted sleep. You'll be busy with work and other misc stuff around the house when not at work. You think you'll have time to do stuff but you'll soon find out that when the baby is sleeping so are you or your wife, and if it's her turn to sleep you're on baby watch.

It's a great time though and maybe just what you need to force a break from the Z for a while. Don't jump too quick and start selling stuff unless you have to for financial reasons. You'll be more upset at yourself for that.

It's your decision and no one here can make that call for you. Do what you 'responsibly' should for your family.
